The soulful songstress, Tara Darnell, is more than just a singer, she is an entertainer. This debut album showcases some of the many facets of Tara Darnell. With the elements of style, class and soul, she breathes life into familiar songs such as "God Bless The Child", "Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans?", "All Of Me", "Birth Of The Blues" and "Summer Time". Although these songs have been recorded by many others, Tara's fresh approach revitalizes the listener's appreciation of the songs of tradition.

It is evident that recording is nothing new to Ms. Darnell. Her credits include work with Mercury/Polygram group "Cinderella", Grammy Nominee-Irma Thomas, New Orleans' own, Wanda Rouzan, The Gospel Soul Children, international artist, Willy Deville and New Orleans' Queen of the Blues, Marva Wright!
Tara's introduction to music happened as a child. She sang in Church and schoo. As her love for music grew, her talents became obvious. Her career began to flourish. Tara sang background for many years with Marva Wright. This exposure gave her a jump start to her solo career. In addition to Marva's support, many other artists encouraged her to "go for it!" As Tara begins to name all the people who have helped her, the names grow to numerous to list.
I believe Tara's than you style is the key to her growth both spiritually and musically. Her performances are warm and intimate. Intimate in the sense that you feel as if you have received a part of her.
As for performing, Tara Darnell has entertained audiences in Europe, Canada and the United States. She has been on the same bill with many of the worlds outstanding performers. Miss Darnell has also been featured on regional and national Television, including HBO, NBC and CBS.
Tara's family laughs as they remember her singing into her jump rope and screwdrivers at the age of two. Now they know that it was just a sign of things to come! Tara Darnell's career is not just her own, but it is a group effort. Although she has traveled extensively, the nurturing support of her loved ones have enabled her to keep her identity. That support has provided her with the stability needed in a fast paced lifestyle.
